Lars is 75 years old and
retired psychologist

Lars wants to keep busy and is excited to meet Kevin from Gambia. Kevin is studying to become a healthcare assistant and wants to practice the difficult Danish pronunciation. He is a little nervous about the main part of his studies, and it helps to talk to Lars about expectations and study habits. They occasionally go on trips together, but mostly sit at home on Lars' couch and talk.

Olivia has lived in
Denmark for several years

She speaks mostly English with her husband and doesn't practice Danish in everyday life. After she started meeting with retired social care teacher Trine, Olivia dares to speak Danish. This has given Olivia a lot of confidence! Trine and Olivia share an interest in health and care, and they always talk about a topic from Olivia's school.

Brita and Anne, Roskilde

Brita is from Ghana and joined Elderlearn when she was studying for her social work degree. She wanted to become even better at her studies, at her job and in her contact with senior citizens.

Brita meets Anne, a retired physiotherapist. Anne supports Brita in her studies and helps Brita improve her Danish.

Both Brita and Anne enjoy taking walks in the area around Roskilde while chatting happily in Danish. They talk about everything from children and exams to cereals and flowers - and having family abroad, which they both know about.
